A view of the Northern Colorado Front Range from the Red Paw Research Lab
Red Paw Systems' BackupBox™ product evolved from earlier disk and networking products developed or architected by the company's founding team.
During the late '80s, they developed a PC network using DEC VAX systems for disk servers. This 'virtual' disk server technology is the same fundamental technology used to create the BackupBox's innovative disk image storage.
During the 90's, they designed and developed an on-the-fly data compression software package for IBM's OS/2 platform, the DCF/2. It was the first and only data compression product to support OS/2's HPFS (high performance file system). Also during that time, they developed key encryption libraries for Nippon Telephone and Telegraph, implementing their fast encryption technologies (FEAL) libraries for North American software development.
The combination of these product technologies plus a belief that there is a critical and unmet need for a complete, automagic PC backup solution and you have the BackupBox™.
