Privacy Policy Statement

The purpose of this statement is to explain the privacy policy of Red Paw Systems, Inc.

What information do we collect?
We collect basic user information from you in order to complete a transaction you have requested (e.g., the purchase product or services). This information may include some or all of the following: your name, company name and title if applicable, a bit about your job function, your email address at work and/or home as appropriate, telephone number at work and/or home as appropriate, shipping and billing addresses and credit card information.

We may also collect information when you visit the Red Paw System's websites. This information may include some or all of the following: the name of your internet service provider, IP address, the date and time of your visit as well as web pages accessed and, if applicable, the website from which you linked to www.redpawsystems.com.

After you have purchased and installed our product, we may collect statistical information about the physical characteristics of your hard drive and computer system -- its size, format and physical and logical partition composition, etc. We may also collect statistical data about your backup process -- the software version number, chunk size, the number of chunks, compression ratios, data rates, time required to complete the backup, etc., in order to confirm that the product is working and to continually develop enhancements to improve it.

With the exception of BackupBox log files, we do not collect any of the content stored on your hard drive.

With whom do we share your information?
We do not and will not share your information with anyone without your written permission to do so. Our only intention in collecting information from you is to allow us to better service your data backup and recovery needs and to help us to provide you with more effective customer service.

Is your information secure?
Yes. Red Paw Systems, Inc. uses every means possible to protect customer data. Access to customer information is limited to authorized company personnel only. Credit card account information is used solely for processing your payment and for automatic renewals when applicable. Your personal credit card account information is transmitted using a secure Gateway and the secured socket layer protocol (SSL).

If you don’t want to receive marketing e-mail messages, how can you “Opt Out”?
From time to time, Red Paw Systems may use your information to inform you of new products. If you do not want to receive this marketing information, please contact us by e-mail at privacy@redpawsystems.com. Just send a blank e-mail with the phrase “opt out” in the subject line. Your e-mail address will be removed from our marketing mailing lists.

You will, however, continue to receive critical update notifications via e-mail as well as automatically downloaded software updates from us. These are required for the functionality of the products and services you have purchased, and they are excluded from any “opt out” request.

How will you know if there are changes to Red Paw Systems Inc.’s privacy policy?
We may find it necessary to make changes to our privacy policy at some point in the future. If and when this is necessary, the revised privacy policy statement will be posted on our website along with the effective date of the change or changes. For this reason, we encourage you to visit www.redpawz.com from time to time. Your acceptance of any changes to the privacy policy is implied by your continued use of our products and services.
